The partial hospitalization program (PHP) has two age- and development-specific programs for children age 8 - 12 years and adolescents age 13 -18 years. PHP services bridge the gap between acute inpatient and outpatient services; serving as both an alternative to hospitalization and as a transition from inpatient care. The program uses group therapy to help patients gain insight into their behaviors and to give feedback to peers. Family therapy is core to the treatment program, and sessions are used to increase positive communication and stabilize the current crisis. Patients are seen by a child & adolescent psychiatrist daily.
