DHHS provides services that address the needs of children, families, individuals and seniors. The Department’s core mission, responsibility and focus are for: public health programs that protect the health of the general population and address the health care needs of specific populations; protection programs and systems that provide for the health and safety of children and vulnerable adults at risk; and basic needs including food, shelter, clothing and personal care. DHHS also offers supportive services including individual intervention programs that provide psychosocial, behavioral, and physical health services to individuals, prevention services for children, families and individuals, and self-sufficiency programs that help individuals and families achieve their maximum level of self-reliance. These services, coupled with core services, create an effective continuum of care that addresses the broad spectrum of needs across our community.
