Montgomery County Federation of Families for Children's Mental Health also known as MCFOF

The Montgomery County Federation of Families for Children's Mental Health (Federation) is a family-run organization dedicated to helping family members who have children or youth with emotional, behavioral, or mental health challenges. The Federation provides Family-to-Family Support, Resource Information and Referral, Educational Programs, Leadership Opportunities, Advocacy, and Group Events. It also offers activities for youth with these challenges. The Federation helps family members navigate the different child-serving systems, including Education, Juvenile Justice, Mental Health, and Child Welfare. It connects family members to a wide variety of resources and supports, and helps them gain critical skills and knowledge so that they can become the best advocates for their own children. Family members are linked to a network of support and leadership opportunities. The Federation works to ensure that family members are treated as equal partners at every level of decision-making (program, management, and policy), and that their voices are helping to improve the service delivery system. The Federation promotes the development of a system of care that is family-driven, youth-guided, culturally competent, and community-based.
