Reginald S. Lourie Center for Infants and Young Children also known as Lourie Center

The Reginald S. Lourie Center for Infants and Young Children contributes to the stability and strength of the community by fostering the development of emotionally healthy children and strong parent-child relationships. A private, non-profit agency, the Center specializes in the assessment, treatment, and prevention of emotional, behavioral and developmental problems in infants and young children. The Center also is committed to the advancement of professional knowledge by providing consultation, research and training related to the social-emotional development of infants and young children. Founded in 1983 by the late Dr. Reginald S. Lourie and his colleagues, the Center evolved from a six-year clinical research project funded by the National Institute of Mental Health. This study demonstrated the value of early identification and intervention to enable children to reach their full potential, developmentally and emotionally.
