The mission of Takoma Park Silver Spring Youth Baseball & Softball Leagues (TPSS) is to provide a quality neighborhood youth baseball and softball program that is great for EVERY girl and boy in the community who wants to play ball, great for the community, and fun for all involved. TPSS is a community organization devoted to creating fun opportunities for boys and girls to play baseball and softball in the Takoma Park-Silver Spring area. We have coed baseball and girls softball. We are a volunteer led, tax-exempt, non-profit group. We have a scholarship outreach program that recruits, subsidizes and supports children of low-income families. We support girls and boys with disabilities, special difficulties and unpolished skills. All activities take place on public school fields or on fields permitted through Maryland National Capital Park & Planning Commission. TPSS strives for excellence in all aspects of our programs. The League shall be guided by the following goals: • Teach kids good teamwork, citizenship and sportsmanship; • Teach kids to learn to win and to learn from losses; • To provide a quality neighborhood youth baseball and softball program that is great for every player,regardless of skill level, and the entire community; • To provide a robust scholarship program whereby every child in the community may have the opportunity to participate in baseball and softball programs without concern for costs, fees or want of basic equipment;
