After School Autism Program
By Catholic Charities Developmental Disabilities Services

From school dismissal to 6 pm, students ages six to 21 engage in social, therapeutic and recreational activities such as arts and crafts, music, computers and outdoor games. Program vans take students on field trips, and a snack is provided. Autism Waiver funding, Maryland Developmental Disabilities Administration funding and private payment are accepted. We offer therapeutic integration services, intensive individual support services, respite care, and in home training and support. In addition, AW is offered year around, including a summer program and after-school programs, to ensure that children with DD have constant system of support even after the traditional school year ends so that progress can be made during the year is built upon, not forgotten in the three month gap between school years. The program has a staff to child ratio of 1:3, with some children receiving 1:1 services. It relies heavily on small staff to child ratios to ensure participant children are given the proper supports they need to learn and grow in a healthy environment.
