Clinical Assessment and Transition Services (CATS) provides assessments and referral to inmates identified with behavioral health needs. Clinical Assessment is a post booking jail diversion program for offenders that provides mental health and substance abuse assessments and referral for individuals detained at the Montgomery County Detention Center (MCDC). The program provides needs assessments, suicide screening, coordination of services within MCDC and Court recommendations for release to appropriate community placements as an alternative to incarceration. Transitional services assists inmates of the Montgomery County Correctional Facility (MCCF) in transitioning from jail to the community. The services are aimed at providing discharge planning and coordination of community referrals and placements. Inmates served include participants of the Jail Addiction Services (JAS) program and inmates under psychiatric care.
