The following services and programs are free to home-bound seniors, 60 years of age and older and their caregivers who reside in Montgomery County, Maryland. All of the services are offered in English and Spanish and Farsi. In-home Therapy with Home-bound Seniors: Assessments, brief psychotherapy and practical support helps home-bound individuals deal with issues like difficult behaviors, stress, depression, adjustment and grief and loss. Geriatric psychiatric consultation and follow up: In-home consultations with a psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse can determine appropriate treatment interventions when needed. Follow-up care is also included while client is engaged in services with a therapist in the program. Educational Seminars for Seniors: Psycho-educational talks on mental health and wellness issues for seniors. The primary goal of these seminars is mental illness prevention and early intervention for seniors. Professional Consultations & Training: Free case consultation, staff training and collaborative activities are offered to aging service professionals and community organizations that provide services to seniors in Montgomery County. Drop-in Support Groups for Seniors: Community outreach and drop-in support groups are offered in Montgomery County Senior Centers. Drop-in groups are designed to address coping skills, decrease social isolation, and encourage learning about self-care and wellness. Mental Health Support for Caregivers: In-home brief counseling for the caregivers of older adults in Montgomery County address the unique needs of those who take care of their loved ones.

Eligibility: Montgomery County resident, aged 60 or older. Individual is at risk for or has a suspected mental health concern and who is not currently receiving other mental health treatment.
Senior must be home-bound: unable or unwilling to leave the home for treatment.
