The Lourie Center School is a certified non-public special education day school licensed by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE). It is recognized by the National Association of Special Education Teachers (NASET) as a “School of Excellence”. LCS serves 40 children with complex emotional and developmental problems, from age four through fifth grade, children from Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties and the District of Columbia. The LCS staff work closely with parents and public school personnel to develop individual goals for each child, determine progress on a regular basis, and plan for ongoing programming to maximize each child’s potential.
